Lock a ThreadΒΆ

Locking threads allows threads to be read by students, but prohibits replies. The instructor can still reply.

To lock a thread:

  1. Navigate to a threaded discussion link in your Canvas site.
  2. Click on the lock icon next to the thread you wish to lock.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Students will be able to read the thread, but won't be able to reply.

To unlock a thread, click on the lock to the left of the locked thread and click OK.
