Moderate student uploads to the gallery

The Photo Gallery app gives you the option to approve student-uploaded photos before they become visible in the gallery.

Enable the moderation feature

To enable the moderation feature:

  1. Navigate to the Photo Gallery app in your Canvas course.
  2. Click on the Moderate student uploads toggle.
  3. Now, student-uploaded photos will require instructor approval before they appear in the gallery.

Review student uploads

To review student uploads:

  1. Navigate to the Photo Gallery app in your Canvas course.
  2. If there are any pending uploads, click on the Pending Photos link in the top menu bar.
  3. Click on the photo that requires approval.
  4. An enlarged version of the photo will open. If you would like to approve the photo, click on the Approve Photo link. If you would like to delete the photo, select Delete Photo link.
  5. If you have multiple photos to review, click on the Next or Previous buttons to cycle through them.
  6. After a photo is approved, it will be removed from the Photos Pending Approval section.
  7. To return to the gallery, click on the Back link.
